Dr Smith attended Sydney University, graduating in 1987. He completed his internship and RMO training at Westmead Hospital before moving to Gosford in 1989.
Dr Smith commenced rehabilitation training at Woy Woy and Wyong Hospitals in 1990 before returning to Royal North Shore and Ryde Hospitals to complete his fellowship in 1993.
He was awarded the Basmajian Prize for first place in Australasia for his final exams.
Following this he returned to the Central Coast as Director of Rehabilitation at Berkeley Vale Private Hospital and part-time Staff Specialist at Wyong Hospital, providing general, neurological, geriatric and amputee rehabilitation until 2019.
In 2005 Dr Smith moved to Lake Macquarie and was approached by Ramsay Healthcare to commence Rehabilitation Services at Warners Bay Private Hospital where he continues to provide inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.
He has experience in stroke, traumatic brain injuries, neurological disorders, Parkinson’s Disease, orthopaedic injuries, Multiple Sclerosis and general rehabilitation services.
